The course introduces students to the seminal works of modern and contemporary art on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Artists covered will include Max Weber, Georgia O’Keeffe, Edward Hopper, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Giorgio de Chirico, Vasily Kandinsky, Joan Miro, Salvador Dali, Balthus, Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Robert Rauschenberg, Jasper Johns, Roy Lichtenstein, Philip Gusto, Andy Warhol, Chuck Close, Anselm Kiefer, and Anish Kapoor.
