Ella Kogan’s captivating Sculptures
You are invited to attend Ella Kogan’s solo exhibition.
Presented by MoRA Museum and Primavera Press.
April 14-20 at Rogue Space Chelsea
508 west 26th St., New York, NY
Expressionist, figurative artis Ella Kogan communicates in clay. She receives powerful inspiration that is released in evocative sculptures of the human form: faces worn with persecution, lovers wrapped in unity, a concerned monk struggling with belief. Every sculpture is infused with a soul and expresses the tenacity of the human spirit. They are all subjects of Ella’s visions. “These pieces are essentially works of guided hands and apparitions,. says Samantha Matcovsky, art critic from Huffington Post. Each of them is timeless, referring to stories of love and pain through history and contemporary flans. The intense sculptures in the collection manifest Kogan’s unencumbered imagination, blended with a need to expose the truths behind taboos and social dogmas. Her sensitivity to the world and profound humanity gives each face and form a story told through wrinkles, shape, and emphasis. “Candor” portrays her as an honest, mindful, and fearless artist.
Ella Kogan, born in Russia to renowned painter Leonid Kogan, has been an artist since childhood. Her background in music and multicultural exposure has led her to develop a unique philosophy and technique. Ella’s sculptures are a deep reflection of her impassioned visions and her commentary on societal conventions.
The exhibition presents a diverse selection
