Opening Reception
Saturday, March 21 2020
6:00 – 8:00 pm
80 Grand Street, Jersey City, NJ
Please join us for the champagne reception to mark the opening
of the solo exhibitions by two remarkable artists,
Rustam Turaev and Troy Khasiev.
Artists will be present.
Rustam Turaev’s works are at once poetic and cleverly modernist, combining figurative elements with abstraction. He frequently takes inspiration from Greek myths and philosophy and pays homage to traditional Tajik design, giving his paintings a longing quality. But for all his intellectual and historical references, he never shirks the mundane and monotonous of everyday. One feels this in the joie de vivre of his still lives, the underlying subtlety of his portraits, and his meticulous depictions of working people.

Troy Khasiev is an up and coming artist from Moscow, Russia. He made his first drawings and photographs at the ages of three and five, and started experimenting with digital imaging as a teenager. He continues to study and produce artworks in a range of mediums, and, despite his young age, has already exhibited in both solo and group shows in Russia, Europe and the United States.
